Live Wedding Painting at LedgeCrest Reserve Near Green Bay, WI

Ceremony Space at The LedgeCrest Reserve, De Pere, WI

The LedgeCrest Reserve, located in De Pere just outside of Green Bay, Wisconsin, was the setting for a recent wedding I had the opportunity to paint live on site.

From the moment I arrived, it was clear that every detail had been considered with care. Planner Marley Killian of Alliey & Co. orchestrated the day beautifully, creating an experience that felt seamless, intentional, and deeply personal from start to finish.

For this wedding, I painted from two different easel locations throughout the day. I began outdoors during the ceremony, capturing the couple against the natural beauty of LedgeCrest Reserve, then moved indoors during dinner to continue building the painting as the evening unfolded. Working from multiple vantage points allowed me to capture both the atmosphere of the ceremony and the energy of the reception.

One of my favorite parts of the day was painting while being serenaded by the ceremony string quartet. The live music added such an elegant atmosphere and made the entire experience feel almost cinematic. Later in the evening, Dray’s Coffee kept both guests and vendors energized well into the celebration (something I was especially grateful for during the final stretch of painting).

What stood out most, though, was the couple themselves. During both the ceremony and speeches, loved ones spoke about the beauty of bringing together an introvert and an extrovert: two very different personalities whose strengths complemented each other so naturally. It was such a touching theme, and you could feel that dynamic reflected in the warmth and joy surrounding them all day.

The bride was incredibly kind, and watching her reaction to seeing the painting come to life was one of the highlights of the evening. Moments like that are a big part of why I love live wedding painting. There’s something special about watching someone see their day reflected back to them through art in real time.

I also loved working alongside such a talented vendor team. Cassie Tebo Photography & Videography did an amazing job documenting the day and capturing the live painting process so thoughtfully. I felt genuinely cared for and appreciated throughout the event.
